HELLO!

My name is Sara Meixner and I am a mixed media artist and lover of all things creative. Moon in Hand Art Studio is my happy place, and it brings me back to when I went to college many years ago with dreams of being a working artist. And as so often happens in life, detours that took me in other directions. But I’ve always sought creative outlets doing everything from paper making and crafting to bookbinding, painting, jewelry and ceramics. With Moon in Hand Art Studio, my creative journey has come full circle, and my early artistic dreams are becoming a reality.

My current creative passions are acrylic painting, gel plate mono printing and collage. I love playing with layers of shape, color and texture on the gel plate, and then using the prints in mixed media pieces. One of the joys of gel plate printing is there’s always an element of surprise, and it’s often a pleasant one that inspires the next steps I take with a piece. As I continue to create more work, I will share it here, as well as information about open studio events and workshops, so stay tuned.
